Q.W.A.C.
Quality water
awareness campaign
The purpose of Q.W.A.C. is to educate lake residents, businesses, and visitors on how to be good stewards of the lake. Let’s keep it clean, beautiful, and preserve the quality of our water. Without clean water we have nothing, so let’s take care of it.
Our Lake
Our Mission
We are a Lake Community and the value of our homes and businesses are directly dependent on the condition and quality of the water that we boat, play, fish and live on and in. Water that we want future generations to be able to enjoy.
Without Quality Water we have nothing, so let’s take care of it.
Be a part of Q.W.A.C., it’s a Campaign we can all feel good about, a Campaign that needs your support so we all win the Race for cleaner Quality Water for Lake Gaston.
Areas of Stewardship
If you love me, don’t leaf me!
Dumping leaves in the lake may have serious and negative side-effects on the water.
Fish KILLER!
Caring for your yard, avoid fertilizers and weed killers that could run off into the lake.
A solid problem, indeed
Know your septic system capacity and make an effort to reduce usage.
In the weeds
Invasive plants can create a larger issue for the aquatic ecosystem and boating fun. Bait buckets and fish tanks should never be dumped into the lake.
Stay afloat, fix your boat
Boating maintenance and upkeep can decrease environmental chemicals from entering the lake.
Who Can Help
Whether you’re a fisherman, lake resident, visiting guest, local business, camper, or boater, we’re all connected by our lake. Use it well, protect it always, and cherish our shared resource.
